St. Francis Lutheran Church, 152 Church Street

Cal Poly’s San Francisco Urban Program hosts a two-part session to hear the latest on how we can maximize affordable housing and housing choice on remaining large transit-oriented sites, and to get input from people about what they’d like to see at the Market and Church St.

Safeway site if it were redeveloped in the future. We will explore ways to include substantial affordable and mixed income housing plus other community benefiting uses.

Architectural students from Cal Poly now spending 6 months living here will incorporate what they hear at the event into concept design studies for the site that will be completed in June, and shared in a follow-up public forum. This session is geared broadly to housing activists, neighbors, community leaders, and planners.
